Terms of service

These are the terms on which Simansana is offered to you. They are written to be read, not skimmed past — they cover what the platform does, what we ask of you, and what happens in the situations that matter, including the one this platform exists for: passing things on. By creating an account you agree to them. How we handle your personal data is a separate page: our privacy policy.

Who we are

Simansana is a product of Goom Coom Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 09661684) with its registered office at 7c Hanham Hall, Whittucks Road, Hanham, Bristol, BS15 3FR. You can write to us at info@simansana.com.

The service

Simansana is a private vault: a place to keep the content that matters to you, organise it, share it with people you are connected to, and pass it on to whoever you choose. It includes the vault itself, connections and circles, events, conversations, and the handover — instructions for what should happen to your content when you die.

Your account

• You must be 18 or over to hold an account.
• An account is for one person — you — and joining is by invitation. The details you give must be true, and the contact points you verify must be yours.
• You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials safe. If you believe someone else has access to your account, change your password and tell us.

Your content

What you put in your vault is yours. You keep every right you have in it. You give us only the licence we need to run the service: to store your content, to make the technical copies serving it requires (thumbnails, previews, backups), and to show it to the people you choose to share it with. We do not read, mine, sell or advertise against your content, and the licence ends when the content is deleted.

You are responsible for what you upload and share: it must be lawful, and it must not violate anyone else's rights. Content shared with you remains the sharer's — it is shown to you to see, not to redistribute.

We look after your content carefully — it is stored redundantly, and deleting is deliberately hard to do by accident. Even so, no service is infallible, and for anything truly irreplaceable we encourage you to keep your own copy too.

Acceptable use

Do not use Simansana to do anything unlawful; do not upload content that is illegal to hold or share; do not harass or impersonate anyone; do not probe, overload or interfere with the platform or reach for content you were not given. We may remove content or suspend accounts where this is violated — see below.

Passing things on

The handover lets you record what should happen to your content when you die: who may receive what. This part of the service deserves the plainest words we have:

• It is not a will. Your wishes here concern content held on Simansana and nothing else. They do not dispose of property, they do not appoint legal executors, and they do not replace, amend or override a will, probate, or the law of any estate.
• We act on evidence, carefully. A death is acted on only after somebody reports it and we review what they send. We tell the account holder a report was made, we wait before anything is released, and a person wrongly reported dead can dispute it and be restored. We act in good faith on the evidence we are given; you accept that we are not a court and rely on what is presented to us.
• Releases follow your wishes as recorded. What reaches whom after a death is what you set down, as it stood. Keeping your wishes current is yours to do.

Messages from us

Running the service means writing to you — sign-in codes, invitations you are part of, and notices about your account or things done concerning it — at the contact points you verified, by email or WhatsApp. These are service messages, not marketing; we send no marketing.

Fees

Simansana is free during early access. If paid plans are introduced, we will tell you clearly and in advance, nothing you already hold will be taken hostage, and you will have a genuine chance to take your content and close your account before anything is charged.

Suspension and closure

You may close your account at any time, from your settings. Closure ends access at once and starts the removal described in the privacy policy, with a 180-day window to change your mind.

We may suspend an account while we investigate a serious breach of these terms, unlawful content, or a genuine risk to the platform or its people — and we will tell you at a contact you verified, save where the law prevents it. Suspension is not deletion: nothing is removed by it, and it is lifted when the reason is resolved.

Our responsibility to you

We provide Simansana with reasonable skill and care. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Beyond that, we are not liable for losses that were not a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms, or for business losses — the service is for private use. Where content passes on a death, our role is limited to the careful process described above; we are not responsible for the consequences of wishes as you recorded them.

Changes

The service will evolve, and these terms will evolve with it. If a change matters, we will say so on this page and, for significant changes, tell you directly before it takes effect — and if you do not accept a change, you can close your account. The date at the top is the date of the last change.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction — though if you live elsewhere in the UK, you keep the protections and the courts of your home nation.
